Alice Diane (Condit) Knittel, 82 of Old Bridge, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her home.

Born in Kearny, Alice was raised in North Arlington and lived in Irvington for many years, before settling in Old Bridge in 1966. She attended Queen of Peace high school and Seton Hall University.  She retired in the early 70's from American Standard Company of Piscataway. She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of South River. She was a die-hard NY Mets and Notre Dame football fan. She was an avid reader and crafter. She also cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, James Knittel in 1991, she is survived by her daughter, Ginnie Jamison and her husband Wallace, of Jackson Twp.; her grandchildren, Matthew, Kelly, Joshua, Wallace, Jr. and Amanda Proko and her husband Greg, and her great-granddaughter, Valerie Jamison.  She is also survived by cousins Margo Dudak and Monica DuBois and their families.

Cremation was private. Arrangements were entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. A memorial mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 13 at 9:30 AM from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, South River. To send an email note of condolence to the family, please visit
