Mrs. Annette Levine Fritz, 97, of Bridgeport, Ct., died Thursday at her residence. Born in New Brunswick, Mrs. Fritz had resided in Westfield, Mountainside and Monroe, N.J., as well as South Beach, Fl. before moving to Bridgeport four years ago. With her husband, Herbert and her son, Barry, she owned and operated ladies apparel shops; "Herbert's" in Westfield, N.J. and "Imagine" in East Windsor, N.J. for many years. Mrs. Fritz was the last survivor of ten children born to Benjamin and Esther Levine. For Annette, family always came first. She was recognized as the "Rock" of the family and as the "Maypole" which the family circled around.

She was very active in any community where she resided. She was a long time member of Congregation Ahavas Achim, Highland Park, of which her family were founding members. She and her husband, Herbert were founding members of Temple Emanuel of Westfield, N.J. She also was a past president of the Temple's Sisterhood for many years. She belonged to Hadassah and B'nai B'rith and was a founding member of the Benjamin and Esther Levine Family Circle, a family organization that met to discuss family matters every Father's Day for the past 70 years. Annette loved to dance, tell stories, knit and "Hold Court" at all family gatherings.

Mrs. Fritz was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Esther (Sapol) Levine, her nine siblings, her beloved husband, Herbert in 1991 and her devoted son, Barry in 2004. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Brenda Fritz of Sherman Oaks, CA.; her granddaughters and their spouses: Allison and Jack Feuer, Suzanne and John Sacchi, Nicole and Brian McFarland, Jennie and Michael Schreiber and her five great grandchildren, who affectionately called her "GG": Miles and Benjamin Feuer, Dylan & Luke McFarland and Owen Sacchi.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 11 a.m. in the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. Interment will follow immediately in the Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
