Arthur Edward Joynes, Sr., 85, of East Brunswick died Monday, April 1, 2013 at his home. Born in Paterson, he lived in Jersey City before settling in East Brunswick in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII
. Art retired in the mid-80's from the Ford Motor Company assembly plant, formerly located in Edison, where he was an electrician for more than 30 years. He remained active in the UAW Local 980 until very recently. Art was very simply, a quiet family man, who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and tinkering around fixing anything that needed repair.
Predeceased by his daughter, Emily Lilla and his grandson, Daniel Lilla, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Joynes; his sons, Arthur Joynes, Jr. and his wife Denise, of Eagan, MN, Dennis Joynes of Jackson and Jeffery Joynes of Eastampton; his sister, Emma Moskal of Flemington; his grandchildren, Jessica Delacruz, Tracy Marcotte, Christopher and Arthur Joynes III, Donna and David Lilla, and; many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday from SPOTSWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, with interment following at the Reformed Church Cemetery, Spotswood. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
