Barbara J. Topolewski

Barbara J. Topolewski

AGE: 67 • Belford

Barbara J. Topolewski, 67, of Belford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 5, 2013. She was born in Jersey City on October 5, 1945. Barbara grew up in West Keansburg, married and spent most of her time raising her family not more than a few blocks away. She loved that her brothers and sister all lived within miles while starting and raising their families. The idea that cousins are your first best friends applied to all her nieces and nephews. Barbara was a strong woman to be able to nurture her three boys, who are close in age while at the same time juggling work and her health as a young mother. Her family was her strength. Barbara loved to laugh and spend time with her siblings. Often times they could all be heard speaking at the same time, louder and louder and then they would realize it and start cracking up. Barbara loved to go to AC and play the slots. Although she eventually moved to Florida and spent some 20 years there, she was always missed and knew she would return home. Barbara had a early career working with her husband, helping run the family HVAC business, "MacLean's Heating & Cooling" in Keansburg. She carried herself, as a professional businesswoman before being a businesswoman was typical. Later she proudly obtained her Real Estate License and in later years worked in Shoprite. She loved and was loved by everyone she came in contact with. Her strong, bigger than life personality made friends of strangers.

Barbara was a devoted mother, friend, aunt, sister & Nanny. She was predeceased by her parents, Chester and Isabel Foley Topolewski and her brother, Chester Topolewski. Barbara is survived by her loving sons, Joel MacLean and his wife Lisa of Belford, Jamie MacLean of Union Beach, Keith MacLean and his wife Deborah of Shickshinny, PA; her dear sisters, Elizabeth Wilson of Port Monmouth, Isabel Ganz of W. Keansburg, Jay Topolewski and his wife Nancy, Deborah Sheehan and her husband Greg of Toms River, along with her cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Kendyl, Samantha, Julia, Zachary, Kennedy, Adriel, Jessica and Joel Jr. She was also a cherished Aunt. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
