Catherine Marcinczyk DeStefano died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 90. Born in Sayreville, she resided there before moving to East Brunswick 60 years ago. Mrs. DeStefano was a communicant of St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Destefano, Sr in 2007; a son, Thomas in 1967; and a daughter, Christine Nail in 2001. Surviving are her son, Joseph J. DeStefano, Jr.; 4 daughters, Barbara May and her husband Leonard of East Brunswick, Ruth Witham and her husband Charles and Sharon Young and her husband, Earl, Jr, both of South River, and Fran Meyers and her husband, Joseph of East Brunswick; 12 grandchildren, Thomas (Marty) DeStefano, Michael Majewski, Thomas, Brian (Kristen) and Leonard (Lara) May, James Bluhm, Catherine Bluhm, Adam (Jacqueline) Young, Robert (Laura) Young, Joseph Young, and Jonathan and Laura Meyers; 12 great grandchildren, Isabella, Nicholas and Thomas DeStefano, Kaitlyn Majewski, Jasmine Daisy Bluhm, Matthew, Gavin, Vincent and Hannah Young, Brayden & Kristjan May, and Emanuel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 8:15 AM, in The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River.
