Chester A. Tremper, devoted husband & father, 59, of Shirley, formerly of New Jersey, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at River Terrace Health Care Facility, Lancaster. Mr. Tremper was born in Neptune, NJ, Aug. 28, 1954, a son of Harold and Ruth (Johnson) Tremper and resided much of his life in the Neptune, NJ area before moving here eight years ago. He was a graduate of the Howell (NJ) High School. He was employed as a warehouseman at RockTen Company in Devens. Prior to that he worked for the Waterfront Commission, Port Newark, NJ. Most recently, he attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Still River. He formerly attended St. Catherine's Parish, Middletown, NJ. He also enjoyed fishing.
He leaves his wife of 22 years, Maryellen Keigher; two sons, Charles A. Tremper and Joseph F. Tremper, both of Shirley; a brother, William Tremper of Howell, NJ; two sisters, Elizabeth Paiano of Southampton, NJ, Margaret Gaibiselis of Lansdale, PA. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Tremper of Florida.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte. 2A), Ayer. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Still River Road, Harvard. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Shirley.
