Edward F. Gregowicz, 85, of Fords, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. He was born in Perth Amboy and he lived here before moving to Fords 10 years ago. Edward served his country during World War II in the US Army as a Military Policeman. He was employed by the City of Perth Amboy as a Police Officer for over 30 years. He retired in 1984. A lifetime member of the Perth Amboy PBA Local 13 and the VFW Sgt. John B. Egan Post 663 of Perth Amboy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Helen (nee Gasior); his brothers, Adam, Leon, Carl & Emil Gregowicz, and sisters, Walterine Bujalowski and Antoinette Kardos. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jean (nee Yuro); beloved father of Robert and his wife Nancy Gregowicz of Manalapan and a daughter, Lisa Knopko of Perth Amboy; adored grandfather of Wendy, Christie, Charles & Cassandra.
We begin to leave on Saturday at 8:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 9:00 am at St. James RC Church. Burial will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visiting is on Friday from 2 ~ 4 & 7 ~ 9 pm.
