Edward J. Gajdzis, 69, of Jersey City, NJ passed away on Friday September 27, 2013 after his strong battle with cancer. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided there much of his life. He attended James J. Ferris High School and then served in the U.S. Army in the 60's. He worked for the U.S. Postal Services for over 30 years. Eddie's passion was his bowling and his two official 300 games, although he really did achieve this 3 times.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Helen Gajdzis. He is survived by his loving partner and best friend, Rosemarie Esmail, his loving children, Ed Gajdzis and his wife Teresa of West Edmeston, NY, Valerie Reyher and her husband Matthew of Southbury, CT, Michael Esmail and his significant other Miranda Chan of Boston, MA, and his two grandchildren, Stephen and Elizabeth Gajdzis. He is also survived by his sister Helen Barrett and her husband Pat of South Wanamassa, NJ and their two children Laura and Lawrence Irving.

Friends and family are invited to view from 2:00p to 6:00 pm on Sunday, Sept. 29th at Ely Funeral Home 3316 Rt. 33. Neptune, NJ. A private burial will take place at a later date in the veteran's cemetery. Condolences may also be made online at www.elyfuneralhome.com.
