Edward Joseph Sawicki, Sr.

AGE: 69 • Highland Park

Edward Joseph Sawicki, Sr., 69, of Highland Park, died on Monday, December 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Jersey City. Edward lived in Highland Park for 5 years and in Piscataway for many years. He was a graduate of St. Peter's Prep and St. Peter's College. Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Captain, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Edward worked as a Supervising Program Development Specialist for the State of New Jersey in the Division of Mental Health. He was a member of the Dunellen Knights of Columbus, a member and parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway and was an avid antique collector.

Surviving is Edward's wife, Eloise (Jocher) Sawicki, of 43 years, his 4 children, Mary Elizabeth Sawicki of Flemington, Christine Biskey and her husband Patrick of PA, Edward, Jr. of Piscataway and Katherine Sawicki of East Brunswick. Edward is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Mairead, Mitchell and Shane.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Fatima in Piscataway. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Visiting will be on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00PM & 6:00-9:00PM at Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave. in Dunellen.
