Eileen Danford Barth

On March 10, 2013, Mrs. Eileen Danford Barth, 92, long-time former resident of this area passed away at her home at Westminister Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mrs. Barth graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1937, and she and August Theodore Barth NBHS '36 were married in the Stelton Baptist Church in 1941. Mr. Barth was the former Chairman and CEO of Heritage Bank North. He died in 1989.

Mrs. Barth attended Douglass College (then, NJC) and graduated from Thomas Edison State College. She and her husband lived in Princeton for many years before moving to Maryland's Eastern Shore. Mrs. Barth has lived in Virginia since 1998.

She was the former president of the Board of Trustees of Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, and was active in her church, DAR, Scouting, and many other community efforts including membership on the South Brunswick Board of Education. She was a writer, teacher, volunteer and homemaker. Until her death, she was CEO of South Brunswick Security Co. of Monmouth Junction.

Mrs. Barth was predeceased by a sister Mrs. Lois Cangelosi of Petaluma, California and is survived by a daughter, Wendelin Barth O'Brien, of Millsboro, Delaware, two sons, Dr. Jeffrey Theodore Barth of Charlottesville and Douglas Danford Barth of Toms River, N.J., four grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on March 23rd at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge in Charlottesville. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to our local Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity.
