Elizabeth "Lil" M. Olivadotti Bruno, age 94 of Oceanport died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch she resided in Long Branch, West Long Branch and Monmouth Beach, moving to Oceanport in 2002. Lil graduated from West Long Branch School in 1932 and Long Branch Senior High School in 1937. She attended O'Shea's Business School in Red Bank. Her 68 years of varied employment included Kay Dunhill Dress Factory; Jim Ann's ALB and Remco Coat Factories; Bendix Electronics in Long Branch and Holmdel; Head Teller and Supervisor at Best and Company, Eatontown; and Wash City, Long Branch. She served as Union Stewart, Chief Stewart and Vice President of Electrical Union #435.
Lil was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church of Christ the King Parish Long Branch; member of the Long Branch and Oceanport Senior Citizens; former member of West Long Branch Fire Department #2 Auxiliary; former member of the Italian American Memorial Association Auxiliary; and former member and past president of Long Branch BPOE
She was predeceased by her husband, Valentine E. Bruno in 1992, who was a partner in Val's Bar, Long Branch; her mother Rose Christopher Olivadotti; sister, Josephine V. Olivadotti; and brothers, Frank "Biff", Russell T., Rocco G. and Robert A. Olivadotti. Surviving are a son, Martin R. Bruno and his wife Patti of Shrewsbury; grandchildren, Michael and his wife Carly; Matthew and his wife Megan; Kelly Anastasio Borg; Tara and her husband Mark Porter; great grandchildren, Madeline, Addison, Salvatore and Isabella Bruno; Grace and Tessa Porter; Kaitlyn and Gavin Borg; sister Sandra Rubino of West Long Branch; one Aunt, Frances "Babe" Christopher; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4-7 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch. Funeral Thursday, 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
