AGE: 85 • Sayreville

Eugene E. Palmer, age 85, of Sayreville, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Woodbridge he has resided in Sayreville since 1951. Before his retirement 20 years ago he was employed as a field engineer for 27 years at Public Service Electric and Gas in Newark. Mr. Palmer was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Sayreville VFW post 4677.

He is predeceased by his wife Charlotte English Palmer in 2010 and his son Bruce Palmer in 1953. Surviving are his son Glenn Palmer of Clifford, Pennsylvania his daughter Joyce Tripisousky and her husband Patrick of Sayreville, his grandchildren Amy Palmer, Kaitlyn Palmer, Colleen Jadus, Cheryl Tripisousky and her companion Ray Perez, his great grandchildren Andreaz, Angel and Janalize and his brother Douglas Palmer of Morehaven, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30am at the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville with burial to follow at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Sayreville VFW post 4699 will hold military services Friday 7:30pm at the funeral home. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations in Eugene's name be made to Sayreville Animal Shelter, Main Street, Sayreville, N.J. 08872.
