Eva (Lindner) Welsch

Eva (Lindner) Welsch died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 88. Born in Romania, a survivor of the internment work camps in Russia, she, her husband, and infant daughter came to the United States in 1952, living in Detroit and finally Highland Park. She relocated to North Brunswick 25 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at St. Paul the Apostle RC Church in Highland Park. She greatly enjoyed her last years participating in the activities of the Parker Home Day Program. Mrs. Welsch was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in North Brunswick. She was a member of both the North Brunswick Senior Citizens Pioneers Club and the German-American Club of New Brunswick. Eva will be fondly remembered for her delicious "schwobisch" cooking and baking, along with her stoic wit.

Her husband, Frank Welsch, died in 1972. Surviving are her three daughters - Katherine Welsch and Anna Scruggs both of North Brunswick and Maggie Alpaugh of East Windsor; her son Frank Welsch of San Francisco; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of the services.
