Everett S. Webb, 86, of Metuchen died on October 7, 2013 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer at the Mary Anne Hale Pavilion of Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Yonkers, NY, Mr. Webb grew up in Orange, NJ and graduated from Orange High School. He entered the US Army, served honorably during WW II and subsequently attended Rutgers University. Since 1952 he was a resident of Metuchen. He spent his career as civilian employee of the Department of the Army at both Raritan Arsenal and Picatinny Arsenal, where worked as a Supervisory Computer Systems Analyst until his retirement in 1982. Active in his community, Mr. Webb was a Metuchen Savings Bank Board Member and computer consultant for the bank from 1969-2009. He also served on the Metuchen Zoning Board and was a former member of the Metuchen Rotary Club
and a former Board Member of the Metuchen-Edison YMCA. He enjoyed membership at the Forsgate Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of over 61 years Mary Webb (nee Cobbs); a daughter Sharon Webb; and two grandchildren Lelia Webb Simmons and Tyler Webb Simmons.
A celebration of Mr. Webb's life will held on November 23, 2013 from 1 to 3 pm at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, Metuchen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Camp Chihopi- Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation or Shriners Hospital of Philadelphia.
