Filomena "Mamie" Carri
AGE: 99 1/2 • Somerville
Filomena "Mamie" Esposito Carri, 99 ½, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013. Born in Raritan, she resided in Somerville for the past 62 years.
Mrs. Carri worked as a seamstress for Stanhope Manufacturing Company in Raritan for more than 20 years, until retiring in 1965.
Mamie was a communicant of St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan and was a member of its Rosary Altar Society. She also worked on the Festa committee for many years.
Mamie was also a member of the Raritan Senior Citizens and the Golden Age Group.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mamie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Dominick in April, 1992; her parents, Frank and Rosina Esposito; four brothers, James, Anthony, Patrick, and Nicholas; and a sister, Lucy Russo.
Surviving are her beloved daughter, Victoria Puza of Ortley Beach; her loving sons, Rocco S. Carri of Egg Harbor Township and Frank Carri and his wife, Marlene of Ridgewood; eight cherished grandchildren, Linda, Laura, Michael, Suzanne, Jason, Nicole, Sabina, and Ashley; thirteen great-grandchildren; her two beloved sisters, Marguerite Corona of Raritan and Marie Frinzi of Easton, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:45 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869. Viewing hours are Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
