Frank B. Ploskonka, 80, of Matawan/Old Bridge Township, NJ. Entered into eternal life on Friday, July 12, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Sayreville, NJ and he has lived in Matawan for many years. He served his country as a boatswain mate with United States Navy
during the Korean War
. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Celotex Company in Perth Amboy for 29 years and he retired in 1998, Prior to that he worked at the Modern Shoe Repair, South Amboy from 1954 till 1960 and in 1960 he purchased the business and he ran the business till 1970. He was a communicant of St. Bernadette's RC Church, Parlin and he worked the Tuesday Bingo, he was a volunteer fireman
with the Cheesequake Fire Company and he was an avid Yankee's fan. Frank is predeceased by his wife Ann (nee Shimko) Ploskonka in "2002", parents Joseph and Theresa Ploskonka, brothers, John, Raymond, Joseph and Aloyious Ploskonka, sisters Jean Wilde, Nellie Sabb, Victoria Toth and Caroline Pillar. He is survived by his children Jo Ann Wolfman and her husband Phil of Matawan, David Ploskonka of Cheesequake, Betsy Arrowsmith and her husband Alan of Matawan, Ellen Denehy and her husband Paul of Monroe, Susan Szatkowski and her husband Steven of South Amboy, Carol Seres and Randy Newmann of South Amboy and Jamie Ploskonka, a brother Louis Ploskonka and a sister Josephine Maliszewski of South Amboy. 15 Grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Lisa, Christine, Jennifer, Katherine, Richard, Sean, Justin, T.J., Megan, Michelle, Adam, Billy, and Brian and 14 Great Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 8:30am at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879. A mass will be offered at 9:30am at St. Bernadette's RC Church, Parlin, NJ. Friends may visit on Monday July 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.In Lieu of flowers please make donation in his memory to Vitas Hospice, 1 Meridian Road, Suite 5, Eatontown, NJ 07724.
