Frank D. Barber Sr., 77, of Perth Amboy, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick with his family by his side. Frankie was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. He was a Parishioner of Blessed John Paul II Parish at St. Mary's RC Church. He was employed by Celotex Corporation, Perth Amboy as a Laborer for many years. He retired many years ago. Frankie was also the Shop Stewart. He served his country during the Korean War
in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW
Post 663 Sgt. John B. Egan, and the American Legion, Robert N. Wilentz, Post 45, Perth Amboy.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents Edward and Mary (nee Hore) Barber; dear brother of 8 brothers and sisters; and a grandson Michael. He is survived by his beloved children Mary and her husband Ruben Vega, Jeanie Nieves, Helen and her husband Carlos Rivera, Catherine Barber - Hollway, and Frank D. Jr. and his wife Sandra Barber; adored grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 3.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 10:00 am at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy. Burial will be at Alpine Cemetery. Visiting is on Monday from 4 ~ 8 pm.
