George T. Lucas II

George Lucas, 76, of Morganville passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. George graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1954. He was a land surveyor in the state of New Jersey for over forty years. He was the founding father of the Garden State Land Surveyor's Alliance. The organization was formed to represent the independent land surveyors of New Jersey. Garden State Land Surveyors Alliance implemented alternate routes of continuing education for the professional land surveyor.
George was a member of the Middletown Lions Club and was involved with Camp Happiness which was associated with the New Jersey Blind Citizens Association. He was an antique car enthusiast and served as the technical advisor for the National Desoto Club.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 loving years, Constance (Connie) Lucas who passed in 2010.
Surviving are his three devoted sons, George and his wife Karen of Jackson, Brian and his wife Stephanie of Morganville, Richard and Stacy of Hazlet. George leaves behind eight wonderful grandchildren who he especially enjoyed, Emily, Allison, Tyler, Ryan, Jake, Brittany, Kierstin and Stephanie. He is also survived by his loving sister Mary Ann Mika of Morganville. Sister-in-laws Patricia Wojciechowshi and husband Walter of Manalapan, and Claire Gaudiano and husband Antonio of Dublin, Ca.
He will be dearly missed by all his relatives and friends and all who knew him as he was a very special person. As he always said "I am great helping others except for myself." He was the best brother ever with a truly magnanimous personality.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at the Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 5-9 pm. A Funeral Liturgy in celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Gabriel Church, Highway 79 at 10 am.
