Irene Albanese, of Jackson, was peacefully taken to Heaven after a two year battle with Leukemia on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2012. Irene was born in Hungary and moved to the U.S. in 1956. She had lived in Brooklyn, NY for many years before settling in Jackson. Irene was a homemaker, an amazing cook and always a wonderful host. She loved vacationing in Aruba and gambling her heart away in Atlantic City. She will dearly be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her father, Zoltan Csukardi; and by her brother, Zoltan Csukardi. Irene is survived by her husband, Eugene; her daughters, Jessica & Nicole, both of Jackson; her mother, Elizabeth Csukardi of New York; her siblings, Alex, Elizabeth, Ella, Joe, Peter, Lori, Julie and Mary, all of New York; and by her loving pet, Mackey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. A private cremation will follow.
