James D. Doran passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 with his devoted wife of 57 years Blanche at his side.

He is survived by a loving family of James D. Doran Jr.; his son, John Charles, and his wife Sue; his daughter, Ann, a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and Persian Gulf War Veteran; son, Daniel Patrick; son, Timothy W, and his wife Judy, all of his sons are Local 3 Electricians, also surviving are his sisters, Sue Lynch, and Kathy Lynch; 4 grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Heather and Johnny, and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Brooklyn, son of one of the Founding Fathers of the Local 3 IBEW. He joined the US Navy in 1954 and served aboard the USS Midway until 1956 and then left his Navy career to marry his high school sweetheart Blanche Marie Kelly and then joined the Local 3 following in his father's footsteps. Jim had a successful career at the NY Times as a Local 3 Electrician for 43 years. Following his retirement in 1995 he and Blanche moved to Crestwood Village 4 in Whiting, NJ where his activity remains to date. He was a trustee for many years, and President for almost five years. And is much known for his active role as a leader in the Manchester Coordinator Council. He took much pride in his community as well as serving on the Mayors committees for the Township of Manchester.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-6 PM and Saturday from 8-8:30 AM at Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 66 Lacey Rd., Whiting, NJ 08759. Mass will be Saturday 9:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church in Whiting, followed by the burial at Hamptonburgh Cemetery in Cambell Hall NY. Condolences can be sent to: www.carmonabolenfh.com
