John M. "Jack" Keenan

AGE: 89 • Edison

John M. "Jack" Keenan died Friday, November 30, 2012, at his home in Edison. He was 89. Born in Perth Amboy he had lived there before moving to Edison 33 years ago. He had worked as a compounder at Shell Oil Company in Sewaren for 43 years before retiring in 1985. Mr. Keenan served in the Sixth Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the Marine Corps League for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Matthews R.C. Church in Edison and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Edison and the B.P.O Elks #2487 in Edison. He was a manager in the Industrial League Softball in Woodbridge Township, was a avid bowler and a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

He is predeceased by his parents David and Mary (Stillwell) Keenan; two sisters Elizabeth Norton and Marylouise Chibbaro; and two brothers Robert and David Keenan. Surviving are his wife Anna (Mastropasqua) Keenan; his daughter Bridget Giarrusso and her husband Richard of Franklin Park; twin grandchildren Olivia and Jack Giarrusso; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Matthew's Church in Edison. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m.
