Joseph E. Lukaszewski (Joe Luke) died February 19, 2014 at the age of 92.Born in Elizabeth he lived in Carteret since 1954.
He retired from West End Garage Inc. of Rahway after 39 years where he was the Service Manager. He was an Army
Veteran of World War II
where he received the "Good Conduct Medal", "American Campaign Medal" and the "European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal". He was a Life Member of the Chrysler's Service Managers Guild, a member of the Westfield Stamp Club, a Post Commander of the American Legion Post 263 of Carteret and a Life Member of the VFW
Betsytown Post #1862 of Elizabeth (now known as Post #1397 of Linden, NJ).
He was predeceased by his wife Mary of 67 years, parents Michaelina and Wojeck Lukaszewski, his sister Victoria Bielawski and brothers Stanley, Emil, Anthony, Albert and Walter.
He is survived by his children Raymond of Elk Grove CA, Stephen and his wife Reeny Luke of Rocklin CA, Elaine of North Highlands CA and grandchildren Melanie and husband Christopher Morin of Paradise Valley AZ and Darren of Rocklin CA.
The funeral will be at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret. All are invited to pay their final respects on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM followed by a mass at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Carteret.
Burial will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation(https://www.alzfdn.org
