Joseph Franklin Kisch, Jr., 68, of Supply, NC, formerly of Stirling, NJ, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at his home. Mr. Kisch was born on September 21, 1945 in Summit, NJ, a son of the late Joseph Franklin and Martha Picard Kisch. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Kisch. He was the owner and operator of Joe Kisch & Sons, where he spent 25 years in cabinet making, kitchen design, and woodworking. He later was employed with Long Hill Township Public Schools for ten years. Mr. Kisch was a lifetime member of the Stirling Fire Department, board member of Passaic Twsp. Little League, member of the Republican Club, and a scout leader with BSA. He was an avid sports fan supporting the NY Yankees, Jets, and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt #3. He truly enjoyed nature and spending time with his wife and children.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Gates Kisch; two sons, Joseph F. Kisch, III (Libby), of Asheville, NC; and David Brian Kisch (Trisha), of Gillette, NJ; daughter, Melissa Wheat (Rob), of Bar Harbor, ME; brother, Charles Kisch, of N. Plainfield, NJ; sister, Martha Kisch, of Supply, and three grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a later date at the Shrine of St. Joseph, Stirling, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 or the Long Hill Twsp. Fire Dept.
