Joseph T. Saganowich, 81, of Howell, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of the late Renae B. (Crock) Saganowich who passed in 2001. Born in Stiles, Whitehall Twp, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Bammer) Saganowich. Joseph worked as a civilian electrical engineer where he managed research programs for both U.S. Defense Dept., and NASA. He worked for Fort Monmouth Defense Dept., Eatontown, NJ, RCA Corp., Phila., and for the Frankford Arsenal, Phila. Most recently, Joseph was interested in real estate, and had a passion in both local and national politics. He was a member of St. Veronica Catholic Church, Howell, NJ, and formerly attended St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Stiles, Whitehall Twp, PA. He received his Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University, and later, his Masters of Science Degree from the University of Penna. A U.S. Navy
veteran, he graduated from OCS, Newport, RI, and served in the Pacific. Joseph was a private pilot, longtime car enthusiast, and avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca M. wife of John Radvany of Yardley, PA; son, Joseph E. and wife Margaret of Cary, NC; 4 grandchildren, John, Thomas, Jessica, and Julia; brother, Stanley and wife Janet of Coplay. He was predeceased by sister, Barbara Quinn.
Call from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall (Stiles), PA 18052.
