Josephine (Mitcho) Meister, 92, died peacefully Wednesday, November 7, 2012, with her daughters at her side, at the McCarrick Care Center, Somerset where she was known as "Josie Girl". Born in Stockton, PA she moved to New Brunswick in 1950. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin R.C. Church, New Brunswick. Mrs. Meister was a member of the New Brunswick Democratic Organization, the Women of the Moose, Somerset, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 589, Hazleton, PA. She was well known for her culinary skills and sharing them with her neighbors.

Her husband, Albert Meister died in 2004. She was also predeceased by an infant son, John Joseph Meister; two brothers, George Mitcho and John Mitcho; and four sisters, Mary Cullinan, Anna Holinchick, Elizabeth Paranick, and Catherine Mitcho.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Feaster and her husband, Bill of New Brunswick, and Kathleen Feaster and her husband, Rich of Somerset; three grandchildren, Catherine Ann, Elizabeth, and Matthew; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Meister of Hazleton, PA.

Funeral services will be held 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Quackenboss Funeral Home, 156 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin R.C., New Brunswick. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call 4 p.m. - 7 p. m. Monday at the funeral home.
