Kenneth Rossman, 86, of Neptune City, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013. Born in Altoona, PA, he is one of 13 children (eight boys, five girls) of Boyd and Laura Rossman. He graduated Altoona High School at age 17 to enter the U.S. Navy
and served aboard the USS Kearsarge becoming a Navy veteran of 5 years. Ken came to live in Neptune City to marry Dorothy E. Lamb in 1950, and they had a wonderful marriage of 52 years until Dorothy's passing in 2002. Kenneth was employed as a Navy Civilian at NAD/NWS EARLE at Colts Neck/Leonardo Pier areas in the position of Director of Photography from 1950 until his retirement 32 years later. Ken's a lifetime member of the Neptune City Fire Department serving as Fire Chief in 1960. He also was over the years active in the Firemens Softball, Baseball, and Bowling teams as well of teams at NAD/NWS EARLE. In retirement, he enjoyed an active life and also collected/restored classic cars for car shows and touring functions.
Ken is survived by two sons, Randall Rossman of Nutley, and Mark Rossman of Neptune City; two grandchildren, Paul Rossman of Nutley, and Kristin Tittrington of Boston, MA; a great-granddaughter, Madison Tittrington of Boston, MA; in PA two sisters, Jean Killinger, Altoona, and Marge White, State College, and from all the family there are all at least 53 nieces and nephews. Ken is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Rossman; seven brothers, Clair, Glenn, Melvin, Gerald, Donald, Jack and Robert; and three sisters, Irma Ingram, Louise, Louise Bathhurst, and Dorothy Rossman. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Francioni, Taylor & Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th and Atkins Ave., Neptune.
