Lena R. Chicuto passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Hoboken, she has lived in the Fords section of Woodbridge Township for over 50 years. In addition to caring for the family's home and raising their four children, Lena was retired from the Woodbridge Township Board of Education where she was employed at the old Fords Jr. High School. She had also been a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Lena loved quilting and knitting, and was an avid reader. She was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She always wanted us to show kindness to one another.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband Vincenzo in 2010. She is survived by her four children Joanne Redmond and her husband Thomas of Middletown, Roseanne Russo and husband Joseph of Metuchen, Bernadette Romatowski and her husband Gregory of Monroe Township, and James Vincent Chicuto and his wife Donna of Westminster, MD. She is also survived by her brother Gus DeRocco and his wife Lesley of Montville, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her "special friends, who know who they are."

Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. A Funeral Liturgy will follow in Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Contributions may be made in Lena's memory to Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, or to .
