Martell J. Cook

Martell J. Cook, 79, of Toms River, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home. Martell retired as a Commander in the US Navy after 29 years of faithful service. He then worked at the Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station as head of Fleet Tech Services, then went on to become head of the Construction Dept. for Berkeley Township. Born and raised in Logan, Utah, he lived in Virginia Beach before moving to Toms River in 1976.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Sallie Marks Cook; two sons, Mark A. Cook of Namibia, Africa, Michael Cook of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Hunter Cook of Richmond, VA, Jonah Cook of Namibia, Africa, Elijah Cook of Namibia, Africa and Aspen Cook of Vici, OK.
A memorial gathering will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 3 to 5 pm with a service and military honors being offered at 4:30 pm.
