Mary Cupsie Clark

Mary Cupsie Clark

AGE: 95 • formerly of Carteret

One month shy of her 96th birthday, Mary Clark died gracefully on February 25, 2014, in Walnut Creek, CA. She had lived in Carteret for over 70 years prior to moving to California in 2009. She died from complications of dementia. She managed to live in her own home until she was 91.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 1984, her granddaughter, Debbie Snoddy in 2013, her great-grandson, Sean Snoddy in 2009, her son-in-law, Robert Snoddy in 1995. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Anna Jane Snoddy of Concord, CA., Karen Loden (Michael) of Baton Rouge, LA, and Christine Clark (Urban Cummings) of Palo Alto, CA; 6 grandchildren, Robert Snoddy (Jennifer), Janine Clark, Kevin Snoddy (Dee), Christine Laurro (Sonny), Karin Bogat (Cliff), and Jonathan Loden (Kara); 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Stanley Clark of Carteret and sister-in-law, Pauline Wicinski of Staten Island, plus many nieces and nephews.

Her family is very appreciative of her caregivers - Joanne Mogadam, Espie & Boyett Azores, who cared for her and loved her like their own mother, the last 3 years of her life. Mary worked for 13 years at Vallone's in Carteret where she thoroughly enjoyed making cannolis. She loved her home and, as her neighbors know, spent many hours raking leaves in her front and back yards. She was a great mother and grandmother. Her family loved her and her cooking, especially her peroigies, pizza and cakes!

Her faith in God was unshakable. Memorial services are pending and will take place in New Jersey in early Fall.
