Meyer Scharf, age 97, born in New York City. Lived in New Brunswick, NJ for 45 years. Attended Nathan Hale Elementary School, Roosevelt Jr. High School, New Brunswick High School and Rutgers University, Class of 1935. Served in the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged on October 27, 1945. Owned the Bellmore Dress Company in New Brunswick with his father, Sigmund Scharf. Later he was Vice President of Manufacturing for the Lady Manhattan company in Paterson, NJ, and then owned Salisbury Manufacturing in Salisbury, MD. Meyer was one of the first residents of Ocean Pines, MD, having lived there from 1975-2012. Married in 1941 to Elizabeth Mellen Scharf who died in 2002.

Meyer is survived by loving daughters Stephanie Scharf (Jeffry Mandell) and Jane Schiff; cherished grandchildren Meredith Mandell, Jonathan Mandell, Julie Schiff (David) Oshins, Lauren Schiff (Kevin) Watters and great-grandchildren Ari Oshins and Elizabeth Oshins; also survived by devoted nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside funeral service Sunday, January 6, 2013, 1 pm at Washington Cemetery, Deans, South Brunswick, NJ. Services by Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan, NJ, 732-446-4242.
