Olga Borak Holod, 93, of South River passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2013 at her daughter's home in Surry, NH. Born in South River, she was a lifelong borough resident.
Before her retirement 31 years ago she was employed in the Quality Control department of Bristol-Myers Squibb in North Brunswick for 20 years. Mrs. Holod was a lifelong member of Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in South River.
She is predeceased by her parents John & Eva Borak, her sisters Nadya Makeich, Mary Wisocky, and Sophie Kurdonick, and her brothers Joseph, Nicholas, John, Dr. Peter, Paul and Dr Walter Borak. Surviving is her husband of 67 years, John Holod, her children and their spouses Tina & Peter Palmer of New Hampshire, and John & Carol Holod of Las Vegas, NV, her grandchildren J.P. Holod, Tom Eaton, Kristin Bell and her husband Alan, and her great grandchildren Samuel Eaton and Harlan Bell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 10 am service at Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in South River with burial to follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. Panahida services with choir will be held Tuesday 7 pm at the funeral home.
