Richard J. Lazicky, Sr. of East Millstone died Saturday March 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in 1930 to Chester and Jennie Lazicky. He lived his whole life in East Millstone.

He graduated from Bound Brook High School where he was a star pitcher for the baseball team carrying them to a Somerset County title. Following High School, he was signed to a minor league baseball contract and played 2 years for the Valley Rebels in the Atlanta Braves organization.

Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Japan and then Korea on the front lines. Upon returning from the war, Richard married Jean C. Romano and had their 3 children. Richard worked for Onka Charter Bus Service for over 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman and Chief for the East Millstone Fire Department. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching sports and going to Atlantic City.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Chester and Jennie Lazicky, brother Chester Lazicky and granddaughter Lindsay Ann Bylina. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 58 years Jean C. Lazicky, his loving children Karen Wolfe and her husband John, Cathy Borsuk and her husband Henry, Richard Lazicky Jr. and his wife Allison, his cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Jaime, Andrew, Taylor, Trevor, Ryan and Coury and his adored great grandchildren Randy, Bella, Brody, Myah, Corbin, Salene, Deziree and Darius, and his brother Eugene Lazicky.

Visiting hours will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday March 25th at Hillsborough Funeral Home 796 US Highway 206 in Hillsborough. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 26th at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in East Millstone. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice.
