Rose C. Pacifico

Rose C. Pacifico, 83, died on December 5, 2012 surrounded by those she loved. She was born in Raritan, NJ on July 15, 1929 to her dear parents Gennaro and Filomena Forte Pacifico. Rose was a graduate of Trenton State College and also earned her Masters Degree in Teaching. She taught for over 40 years at Whitehouse School, JFK School in Raritan, and Bradley Gardens School. Rose was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Raritan, member and past President of the Rosary Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, Hospital Visitor, Pro-Life Representative of St. Ann's in the Diocese, and a member of the Raritan Library Board. She was the recipient of the Eleanor Roosevelt Award by the Raritan Democratic Club. Rose received the N.J. State Teacher Recognition Award, and was an active member in the local Democratic Club. She was a generous sister, aunt, great-aunt, and sister-in-law who enjoyed the opera, followed the N.Y. Yankees, read avidly, and always loved spending time with her family and friends. Her conversations reflected her interests in public matters including politics, history, and current affairs. Rose will be remembered as a kind, caring, generous person, loyal friend, who had an exceptional devotion to her faith, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Rose is survived by her loving brother, Deacon John Pacifico and his wife, Dorothy of Raritan; two nephews, James Pacifico and wife, Alahna, John Pacifico Jr. and wife, Linda; two nieces, Mary Pacifico, Jean Pacifico and husband, William Urban; one great-niece, Kristine Pacifico; one great-nephew, James Pacifico; and one sister-in-law, Florence Pacifico. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Vincent Pacifico.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 starting with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869. Burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
