Mr. Stanley J Franzyshen passed away Saturday April 5th, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick. He was 85. Born in Raritan to John and Catherine (Krehely) Franzyshen, Stanley had been a Somerset resident for over 64 years.

Mr. Franzyshen enlisted to serve in the United States Navy, and was stationed in the Marshall Islands at the time of the Bikini Atoll atomic bomb tests. He worked for many years as a research lab assistant at Johns-Manville. When the company moved, Stanley earned his credentials to become a licensed realtor and real estate broker. For many years he managed and coached CYO Basketball and South Bound Brook - Somerset Little League. Mr. Franzyshen was especially proud of his home, which he built himself, and of the loving family that he raised there.

Mr. Stanley Franzyshen was predeceased by his wife, Vera, in 2004. He is survived by his children: Barry Franzyshen and his wife Dayle of Somerset, Maryann Jacks, M.D. and her husband Richard of Middletown, Diane Rini and her husband John of Flemington, and Michael Franzyshen and his wife Priscilla of Somerset; and by his grandchildren, Mark Franzyshen and his wife Megan, Kristin Petrosini and her husband Chris, Brian Franzyshen, Christopher, David, Steven, and Daniel Rini, and Matthew Franzyshen.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset, NJ., 08873. The funeral mass will begin at 9 am Thursday at Our Lady of Mercy Church on High Street in S. Bound Brook. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
