Stella C. Noonan, 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lincolnton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Stowe William Hoyle and Thelma Brown Hoyle. As a young girl, Mrs. Noonan summered and worked on Long Beach Island, NJ, and this is where she met her future husband - Earle J. Noonan. Together, they owned and operated Colonial Court Motel and Apartments in Brant Beach, NJ, from 1956-1967. Stella was Mr. Noonan's secretary for many years in the insurance adjusting business. After Mr. Noonan's death in 1992, Stella moved to Lyman, SC, and resided with her son, Greg, where she was instrumental in helping him start the business of "Colonial Pawn," of which she was President. Mrs. Noonan was a very proud Grandmother and took great pride in being able to travel from Florida to New Jersey, to South Carolina, to California, and to Colorado Springs in order to welcome each grandchild home from the hospital, which included a lot of hugging and kissing!

Mrs. Noonan was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Earle J. Noonan, and grandson, Joseph Torrey Noonan. Survivors include two sons, Earle J Noonan Jr (Skip) and his wife Loretta, of Colorado Springs, CO, William Gregory Noonan (Greg) and Karen Richardson, of Lyman, SC; and daughter, Stella C. Patterson (Dolly) and her husband Jack, of High Bar Harbor, NJ; a brother, Stowe William Hoyle Jr. (Sunny) of Anderson, SC; and sister-in-law, Peggy Noonan Berner of Asheville, NC; loving grandmother of (7) Danielle DeShields, Michelle Mahaffey, Sean Noonan, Erin Noonan, Greg Noonan Jr., Chris Patterson and Tracy Paulillo; great-grandmother to (9) Anders DeShields, Jordann Noonan, Ferron Jones, Tyler Noonan, Hannah Noonan, Laura Patterson, Kady Patterson, Abigail Paulillo and Jessica Paulillo.
