Steven DelRocco, Sr.

Steven DelRocco, Sr., 94, died on December 19, 2012 surrounded by those he loved. He was born in Somerville, NJ on May 14, 1918 to his parents Frank and Catherine Pastore DelRocco. Steven was the Owner/Operator of Abbot Tile in Greenbrook; served in the U.S. Army during World War II; former Mayor of Raritan Borough; Past President and Member of the VFW in Raritan Post 1748; and started the Raritan Recreation Commission. "The Steve DelRocco Field" was named in his honor; was a quarterback for Somerville High School Football Team and was inducted into the Somerville High School Hall of Fame. He was Grand Marshall of the Basilone Parade in 2002. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a dear brother, a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather. Steven was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Blanchard DelRocco; three loving sons, Stephen (Grace) DelRocco Jr., Dennis DelRocco and fiancé, Rose Kathleen Duffy, Ronald (Ann) DelRocco; a dear sister, Ann Moretti; his wonderful grandchildren, Jamie (Rita), Katie (Todd), Frank, Shawn, Taylor, Rachel, Danny; and six great-grandchildren, Anthony, Sofia, Ava, Julia, Madison, Lucy; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers, Ralph, Jimmy, Frank, Anthony "T", Michael, Joe DelRocco; two sisters, Mary Williams and Betty Orecchio.

Viewing will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 am followed by an 11:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869. Burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater.
