Thomas J. Dunleavy, 78, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in the Bronx and lived in Arizona and Long Branch before moving to Oakhurst 12 years ago. He was a plumber for William H. Hogg in Asbury Park for the past 33 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 2226, Oakhurst. He was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Dunleavy. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen McMahon Dunleavy; his 10 children, Ruth and her husband Jim Steiner, John and his wife Delia Dunleavy, Brendan and his wife Kim Dunleavy, Elizabeth and her husband Kenneth Bauman, Maureen Dunleavy, Tara and her husband Kristian Bauman, James and his wife Michele Dunleavy, Danny Dunleavy, Eileen and her husband Matthew Hennelly and Grace Dunleavy; brother, Henry Dunleavy; sisters, Mary Schwellenbach and Patricia McGarvie; and 19 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 from the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jerome's Church, West Long Branch. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
