Vincent J. Cardieri, 82, of Whiting passed away peacefully May 13th at home surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was a Police Detective with NYPD retiring in 1981 from the Brooklyn District Attorney Squad. Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 29, 1931, the beloved son of Vincent & Vincenza, he was a lifelong resident before moving to Whiting seventeen years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Whiting.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joseph. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of fifty six years; four sons and their spouses Vincent of Brooklyn NY, John of Brooklyn, NY, Joseph & Caryn of Brooklyn, NY and Anthony & Tammy of Staten Island, NY; four daughters and their spouses Patricia & Mark Neenan of Maryland, Jeanne Cardieri of Staten Island, NY, Mary & Joseph Toomey of Colorado and Catherine & John Voellmicke of Massachusetts; his sister Chris Colavito of Brooklyn, NY; his sister-in-law Terri Cardieri of Staten Island, NY; nineteen grandchildren, Kristen, Monte, Sydney, Sinclair, Megan, Emily, Christine, Connor, Joseph, Michael, Brielle, Nicolas, Nicholas, Matthew, Lauren, Kyle, Cathryn, Ethan and Maxwell; four great grandchildren, Regina, Luke, Everett and Asher; beloved friends Mick Taylor of Long Island, NY and Rose Marie Cerminaro of Jamaica, NY; and nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank Van Dyke Hospice for their wonderful care, especially Michele and Trish.

Memorial Mass Saturday, May 25th 10:45am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting.
