Vito E. "Dutchie" Melillo

AGE: 85 • Toms River

Vito E. "Dutchie" Melillo, 85, of Toms River, passed away at Community Medical Center, Toms River, on November 21, 2012. Born in Newark, he lived in Newark for most of his life before moving to Toms River in 2000. He was a Yankee fan and served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He worked for Instant Air Freight as a truck driver for over 20 years before retiring in 1992.

He was predeceased by his wife Rose in 2009, his son in law Steven in 2011, his sisters in law, Isabel Triano, Julia D'Andrea, Katie Grello. Surviving are his son and daughter in law Gerard & Jeri-Ann, Long Branch & daughter, Maria Salon, Woodbridge; his brother, Frank, Woodbridge and sisters, Columbia Bunnucci, Josephine Ruggiero & Florence Jacke, all of Toms River; his grandchildren, David & Melissa; his sister in law, Ann T. Berderka, Toms River; his godchildren, Debra Dean & Mike Henig and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St, Toms River. Funeral service will be on Monday at 10am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ.
