Antonio S. Nappa, 94, passed away peacefully at his son's residence, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born April 10, 1917 in Lioni, Italy to the late Andrea and Josephine Nappa, he served proudly in the Italian Army during WWII and came to the United States in 1954 settling in Plainfield before moving to Middlesex in 1961. Antonio was employed by Standard Plastics of South Plainfield for 13 years before owning and operating Tony Nappa Landscaping. He was a former member of the North Plainfield Italian American Club, Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex and its Senior Citizens Club and the Middlesex Senior Citizens. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and friends, playing cards, making wine and tending to his vegetable garden. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Archangelo, Guiseppe and Gerardo Nappa; a sister, Maria Lettieri and a son-in-law, Alfred Germano. Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Josephine Rotonda Nappa; his loving daughter and son, Josephine Germano of Piscataway and Andrew Nappa and wife Maria of Milford; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Nappa and wife Jeanne Marie, Michelle Lambert and husband Barton and Michael Nappa and fiancé, Ellen Thompson and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will begin Saturday, 9:30 am at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Rd., Middlesex followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Middlesex. Entombment will follow at the Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway. Visitation hours will be Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
