AGE: 79 • Plainfield
Dorothy Doyle James, 79, departed this life Sun. Jan. 11, 2015 at home. Born in Plainfield, she was a lifelong resident. She was formerly employed with Unisys Corp. in Flemington. She was a member of The Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield for over 55 years. Dorothy was the East Third St. Block Assoc. president and National Night Out Committee member as well as a member of other community committees in the city.
She is predeceased by her parents Beatrice and Herbert Doyle, Sr.; 2 sisters Catherine Salter and Constance Hunt; 2 brothers Kenneth and Herbert Doyle, Jr. Surviving are 2 daughters Sharon Pender (Philipp) and Michele Tucker; 4 grandchildren Shardae Clifton (Christian), Danielle and Rondy Tucker, Jr. and Phylia Pender; a great grandson Caleb Clifton; 3 sisters Vivian Wise, Joyce Baskerville and Audrey "Spun" Blount (Sylvester); a brother George Stanley Doyle; 2 godchildren Bradford Baskerville and Corenne Labbe' and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing Fri. 7-9pm in The Shiloh Baptist Church, 515 West Fourth St., Plainfield. Funeral Sat. 9:30am in the church. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home. www.brownsfuneralhome.net.
