Edward J. Flynn passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital after a valiant fight against a long illness. Ed was born and raised in New York City. He attended Good Shepherd grammar school, and LaSalle Academy high school. He graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in Business Administration. Ed served his country during the Korean War. He married his wife Kathryn, on October 25, 1951. The family moved to Old Bridge NJ in 1960 where he actively participated in church activities at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Old Bridge. Ed was most recently a communicant of St. Augustine of Canterbury in Kendall Park NJ.

Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathryn and his 7 children, Janis and her husband Alfred Barron, Marie and her husband Mark Baldwin, Jeanne and her husband Ira Negin, Edward and his wife Kathleen Flynn, Grace, Thomas and his wife Jody Flynn, William and his wife Dana Flynn; 13 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Noss of Blauvelt, NY and 9 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ. The Funeral will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:15 AM at St. Augustine of Canterbury RC Church, 45 Henderson Rd., Kendall Park, NJ. Entombment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, 94 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
