Linda Holler Obituary

Linda Holler (Peters)

AGE: 59 • formerly of Edison

Linda Satya Holler, 59, died of cancer at home on Sunday, June 19, 2011, in the company of her daughter, Cate Tsahalis, and her close friend and former husband, Carl Peters. Linda was born and raised in Edison, NJ, where she also raised her own children. She later moved to Middletown, Conn. Linda spent her life seeking answers to life's greatest questions. Many people struggling with their own questions found answers when speaking to her -- during counseling sessions, during Tarot card readings, or over coffee at the kitchen table. By providing warmth, acceptance, safety, and a listening ear, she became a second mother to many of her children's friends. This, and the fact that she sang in a rock band, earned Linda a reputation for being the coolest mom in Edison. Building on her innate ability to communicate with people, she went on to become a social worker, earning her bachelor's degree in social work from Rutgers University and her masters from Fordham University. Committed to wellness of both body and spirit, Linda was a runner and a rower, she practiced tai chi and qi gong, and she instructed yoga and Hula Hooping classes. She was also an artist, who designed jewelry, snow sculptures, birthday cakes, and the lotus flower tattoo she bought herself for her 50th birthday. Linda was also a woman of exceptional beauty who, quite unintentionally, broke many hearts.

She is survived by her brother, Bob Holler; her three children, Christian Peters, Sara Peters, and Cate Tsahalis; her four grandchildren, Logan Tsahalis, Anna Peters, Scarlett Tsahalis, and Felix Peters; her dog, Troy, and; a long list of friends and admirers.

A memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Rutgers Gardens Log Cabin, 112 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick. Children are welcome. Mourning clothes are discouraged.

My sincere condolences to Linda's family. We lived around the corner from one another when we were children. I haven't seen Linda in over 45 years. I pray that God will give Linda's family divine peace at this time.
