Marcus Ellis Obituary
AGE: 25 • Plainfield
Marcus Corey Ellis, of Plainfield, NJ was taken from us on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the age of 25. He attended Plainfield High School and obtained his Associate's degree from Union City Community College in May 2014. He was excited to start his Senior year at Kean University on September 1, 2016 after having been named to the Dean's List the previous semester. He loved
history and wanted to be a History Professor.
Marcus is survived by his parents, Jerrell and Yolanda Ellis; brothers, LeRon, Malik, Chantz and Christion Ellis, one nephew Norel Ellis, five uncles, Edward and Jason Ellis, Brian Sanders , Damian Gatling and Glenn Holloway, five aunts Sha-Hara Atkinson, Shantrice Holloway, Kimberly Ellis, Selina and Denise Small. Grandparents; Edwardand Patricia Ellis and Selby Small.
A viewing will begin at Ruth Fellowship Ministries 733 S. 2nd. St Plainfield, NJ on September 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to the Marcus Ellis Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are by Buckland Funeral Home 10 W. End Ave Somerville NJ 08876 BucklandFuneralHome.com.

My prayers to the Ellis family and Marcus' friends and loved ones. Although I didn't know him myself, as a Plainfield resident, his death has hit me especially hard. I haven't gone a day since without thinking about the fact that a young man with a good heart and so much potential lost his life literally down the street from where I live. To call this a tragedy would be an understatement. Please let me know how I can be as of much help to the Marcus Ellis scholarship fund as possible, I am willing to do whatever is in my power to ensure that Marcus' kindness, pursuit of knowledge, and willingness to give back to the community is not forgotten.
