Alvaro Morales of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at home. He was 84 years old. Born in Bogota, Colombia, he resided in Avenel for 37 years before moving to Pennsylvania 4 years ago. Mr. Morales was a communicant of Saint Andrew's Catholic Church in Avenel. He was employed as manager with Bank of America in Manhattan for 25 years before retiring in 1993; and had previously been employed by L.F. Rothschild, also in New York City.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ines Rojas Morales, in 2004; and two brothers, Guillermo Morales and Hernando Morales. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra DePinho and her husband, David, of Morganville and Vicky Garrido and her husband, Manny, of Saylorsburg, PA; two sons, Edgar Morales and his wife, Maureen, of Rome, PA and Henry Morales and his wife, Jody Cummings, of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Anna Belen, of Bogota, Colombia; a brother, Fabio Morales of Bogota, Colombia; ten grandchildren, E.J. Morales and his wife, Julie, Ryan Morales and his wife, Brianna, Nicole Greathouse and her husband, Chris, Christopher and Elizabeth Morales, Michael, Kelly and Jessica DePinho and Ashley and Brandon Garrido; and three great-grandchildren, Erika, Jason and Rowan Morales.
Funeral will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrews Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
