AGE: 96 • Manville
A 96 year old, longtime Manville resident, Anna Adamo, died on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Adamo was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 5, 1915 before moving to Manville as a young woman. Upon marrying in 1940, she became a passionate homemaker who loved to cook for her family and friends, with her most notable dish being homemade pizza. She was also a devout Catholic and spent long hours praying to her Jesus.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband James Adamo; her "Little Angel" and first great grandchild, William David Tomasko and several brothers and sisters including Josephine Strauzewski, Benny Benenati, Joseph Benenati and Jenny Benenati. Mrs. Adamo was fiercely devoted to her family and she loved them "a bigga bigga bunch". Her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Bonnie Adamo and her daughter, Fran Medeiros, the wife of the late Anthony Medeiros, will forever miss their mother's tender heart and ready smile. Although her six grandchildren loved her very much, Mrs. Adamo absolutely relished being "Nonni" to her eleven great grandchildren and nothing brought her more joy than their visits. It is with a great amount of sadness that the family realizes she'll never meet-on this side of eternity- her twelfth great grandchild who is due to arrive this fall. Mrs. Adamo will also be missed by several beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 today, June 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 2 from 8-8:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Anna will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
