(Courier News)

ANNE WALKER HEFT
AGE: 54 WASHINGTON
Anne Walker Heft, 54, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at her home in Washington, surrounded by family and friends. A resident of Washington for the past 33 years, Anne was dedicated to her community. She is a past president of the Washington Borough Board of Education, and also served as a founding member and past president of the Warren Hills Little League, as well as the Washington Borough Little League. Anne grew up in Lambertville, New Jersey, graduating from South Hunterdon Regional High School. A legal secretary for the past twenty years, Anne was most recently employed by the State of New Jersey as secretary to the Honorable Robert B. Reed, J.S.C. Anne's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was married to Steven Heft for 32 years, and they raised three children: Bryan and Scott Mannon of Washington and Katie Anne Heft of Hackettstown. In her later years, she was able to lovingly spoil her grandchildren: Tyler and Jessica Charous, Kelcie Mannon and Alexis Wellech. A devoted sports fan, Anne passionately followed the New York Mets and Syracuse basketball. She was also an outstanding amateur poker player, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the 2007 World Series of Poker Ladies Event in Las Vegas. Anne made friends, easily, earnestly and often, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Anne is survived by daughters-in-law, Laurie Mannon and Tammy Mannon of Washington; son-in-law, Michael Wellech of Hackettstown; brothers, Daniel (Linda) Walker and Matthew (Barbara) Walker of Lambertville; sisters, Bonny (Jack) Kelly and Mary (Bill) Robinson of Lambertville, and Victoria (Gary) Walker-Manella of Pennington, as well as mother-in-law, Elizabeth Heft of Belvidere, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, Victor J. and Patricia A. Walker of Lambertville died previously.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave. in Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 6 Church St., Hampton, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ, 08822. My heart goes out to the Heft, Mannon and Walker families. I went all through school with Anne in Lambertville. We had a lot of fun together driving around with Bryan when he was little or just driving by ourselves to visit friends or just doing silly stuff. We had a lot of laughs. I'll miss her.
