Arthur R. Brown, 91 of Monroe Twp. died Saturday March 23rd at his home. Born in Newark, Mr. Brown lived in the Parlin section of Sayreville for 59 years before moving to the Waterside Village community in Monroe Twp. in 2010.
He was employed for 14 years in the distribution dept. of the Scientific Product Division of American Hospital Supply, Edison, retiring in 1987. Previously he was employed by AGA, Inc., Elizabeth for 37 years.
Mr. Brown was an Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of VFW Post 4699, Sayreville. Mr. Brown was a parishioner and member of the Holy Name Society of St. Bernadette's RC Church, Parlin. He enjoyed golf and tennis and was a former member of the Frog Hollow Swim and Tennis Club, S. Amboy. Mrs. Brown also enjoyed assisting at the Dance Carousel, Spotswood.
He is predeceased by his wife Evelyn Mueller Brown in 2011 and his three brothers George, John and Joseph.
Surviving are his son Gary and his wife Dorothy of Matawan, his daughter Jeanne Kane and her husband Kenneth of Monroe Twp., his six grandchildren Michael, Jennifer, Kathryn, Melissa, Mary Beth and Alisyn and seven great grandchildren.
A blessing will be held in the afternoon of Wednesday March 27th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. A memorial Mass for Mr. Brown will be scheduled in the near future at St. Bernadette's Church.
Burial will be on Thursday March 28th at the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm and Thursday 11:45am 12:45pm at the funeral home.
