Bernetta Sykes Obituary
Plainfield
Bernetta H. Sykes transitioned this life 1/23/2016 in new Brunswick. a lifelong resident of Plainfield, she was a life member of Shiloh Baptist Church and employed by Drantz technologies in Piscataway. she was well known for her volunteer work and an active member of the Plainfield Senior Citizens.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas H. Sykes she is survived by her son Craig A. Sykes, daughters Adrienne G. Sykes and Viola E. Sykes-Kennedy (Michael), 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson sister Edith Wilkinson, niece Verna Pruitt and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 7PM at Shiloh Baptist Church 525 West 4th St., Plainfield. Visitation will be held 5-7PM at the church. Arrang4ements by Judkins www.judkinscolonialhoem.com

When we lived at 1173 West Front Street from 1964 -69, we were friends with the Sykes family next door, and remained close with Bernetta until a few years back when we left Plainfield. She was a constant person, a fighter against her infirmaties and always a cheerful presence at the Senior Center where we were fellow members.. We miss her, and extend our condolences to the family.
