Born in Oregon, Betty worked during World War II as a secretary at MacDill Army Air Field (later MacDill Air Force Base) in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she met and married the love of her life, Alfred in 1945 before eventually moving to Long Branch in 1953. For over 25 years, she worked as a secretary in the library of Long Branch High School, enjoying friendships with many of her colleagues and students before retiring in 1985. A member of Lutheran Church of the Reformation in West Long Branch since 1953, Betty was active in the Sunday School, Hannah Circle, and the Altar Guild.

Predeceased by her husband Alfred W. Bisti in 1970, Betty is survived by her daughter, Carole Valentino and husband Joseph of Oceanport, son Ronald Bisti and wife Linda of Haddonfield, and son Robert Bisti and wife Janey of Wall; grandchildren Brian and Marie Valentino, Michael Valentino, Ronald Bisti, Jeffrey and Janet Bisti, Anthony Bisti, and Daniel and Malinda Bisti; and two great grandchildren Joseph and Christopher Valentino. She is also survived by her cousin Relda Wohlschlegal, niece Eileen Brown, and numerous family and friends.

Always thinking of others, Betty's love for her family and friends was always the most important aspect of her life, and with her kind smile and love, she would often devote her time and attention to those in need. In her later years, Betty and her family were grateful for the love, support, and care provided back to her by her family and friends, as well as countless clinicians and caregivers, especially the nurses and staff at Meridian Rehabilitation in Wall.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23 from 6-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch.
